The Cedar Key Bite Is Up And Down

December 30, 2017

Cedar Key Florida Inshore Fishing Report With the colder weather in Cedar Key the fish bite is up and down. The redfish are starting to move in the back marsh and creeks with a high tide at about 2 pm the bars with the warming of the sun and we have been catching them then. The trout are biting good on the flats, cuts and around the islands, using popping corks and just a jig head with shrimp, gulps or favorite soft baits. Work it slow bouncing it off the bottom. And the sheepshead are biting to around the […]

Cooler Weather Is Here And Fishing Is Heating Up

November 1, 2017

Cedar Key Florida Inshore Fishing Report The redfish are biting and are on fire, incoming tide seems best but outgoing tide works well too. Fish up close to the islands, grass piles, oyster bars and cuts, fresh cut mullet on a circle hook or you’re your favorite jig-head, live shrimp or favorite gulps. The trout have fired up also, using popping corks and live shrimp or gulps. Fish the grass flats and cuts, in 3’ to 6’ of water. We also have caught some flounder and Spanish mackerel. Mid November Cedar Key Fishing Report, 10 miles offshore

November 18, 2010

We had a charter of 4, on a half day trip, headed to 25-28 ft of water. It was kinda rough and “one didn’t fish”, but the other three had fun with plenty of keeper sea bass, grunts and 2 nice keeper grouper, with a few shorts that were released unharmed. The bite was good and steady, we didnt have any live bait and I bet we would have done better with pin’s. All were happy, and I look for the keeper gags to be in 28–40 ft here from now on, but the reds will be in deeper water. […]
