Cedar Key Inshore Fishing Report It’s Time To Start Fishing. March had up and down temperatures so the fish we’re a little confused but the fish bite has been good and is getting a lot better. The Speckled Trout are back on the flats and fishing in 3 ½ to 4 ½ feet of water seems best, but fish the cuts and drop offs too. We usually drift till we start catching fish, mark the location, then go back and anchor till they stop. Use a popping cork with your leader and jig head just long enough to keep it […]

This Warmer Weather Is Helping The Fishing Out

Capt Denny helping customers catch some nice Cedar Key Redfish and Sheepshead

February 8, 2019

I’ve been having good scouting trips. The Sheepshead 10 miles out are starting to bite real good and we’ve also caught some nice Gag Grouper but they’re out of season so we released them. We know where they are, so we’ll be back. This warmer weather should turn the fish on. Now the guys are just showing off, nice job guys

January 1, 2019

Cedar Key Florida Inshore Fishing Report The Speckled Trout are biting good, they love the cooler weather. Use popping corks and jig heads with shrimp or your favorite plastic baits. The Redfish are biting best in the back marsh but come out in the afternoon in hi tides when its warmer. They love mud minnows and cut mullet or shrimp. Cedar Key Florida Offshore Fishing […]

The redfish are hungry too and they love mullet and your favorite soft baits, we use just a ¼ oz jig head and work it off the bottom. There are a few reports of Spanish Mackerel being caught and a couple of cobia and we have […]

Fishing Is Picking Up In Cedar Key

February 28, 2017

Cedar Key Inshore Fishing Report The speckled trout in Cedar Key are biting great on the flats and bar areas and the bite seems better on the incoming tide and in the afternoon. We should almost be out of cold fronts and that means the redfish will be coming out of the creeks. Live Shrimp, mud minnows and your favorite gulps will work just fine, for now we’re still doing better with jig-heads on the bottom fishing kind of slow. But by mid-march the popping corks will be better. And if we start talking about sheepshead, we have the pictures […]
