The Pre-spawn Bite is Expected To Kick-off Soon

November 19, 2014

Bass fishing on the Ocklawaha River near Ocala has been fairly consistent over the past month or so. Plenty of bites, although most have been from schooling “buck Bass” getting ready for our first spawning period of the season. I expect our first good pre-spawn bite to kick-off very soon, most likely around the first of December. Look for the size and number of Largemouth bass to improve as we approach 2015. Until next time, see you on the River! Ocklawaha Fishing Guide Captain Nick Bozman This Ocklawaha Fishing Report Is From Ocala Florida Bass Fishing Guide Captain Nick Of […]

Managed to get an early start, about 6:30 a.m., and caught and released about a dozen nice Bass by 10 a.m., two of which were over 5 lbs. Had to contend with lots of schoolers (small yearling Bass) killing our bait, but the action was non-stop up until about 11 a.m. . The sun rose, and the bite was over. Glad we were in the right place at the right time….EARLY This Ocklawaha Fishing Report […]

It’s all about the timing

The Early Bird Gets the Bite Fish! Lots of schooling Bass on the Ocklawaha River near Ocala, although the bite has slowed. It’s all about the timing. If you can get out early enough, the fish will cooperate, but the “window of opportunity” is short. Lately we’ve caught some really nice fish but the bite tapers off after about 8 a.m.. The early bird gets the fish! This Ocklawaha Fishing Report From Ocklawaha Fishing Guide Captain Nick
