Congratulations, we have made through another year. I just realized it’s been several weeks since I posted an article. Apologies. We have had a great year, very blessed year and looking forward to 2014. The last few weeks here in Steinhatchee have been a lot of fun, with Family, Friends, Fish and Food.
We are catching Speckled Trout in the river regularly. Some days we have to hunt a little, but hey! can’t be easy every day. The creeks are also holding fish, usually bigger. With the numbers of Trout in the river, it’s easy to talk yourself out of the boat ride! After all, a limit of fish without putting the boat on plane is special!
Redfish are more difficult to find, at least slot size, there are schools of “cobs”, a name given to undersize Reds, that can be found in river and creek holes. If you find them, and want to enjoy some catch and release fun, please use a jig to minimize damage to the fish. Treble hooks are very difficult to remove.
I will admit that I’m looking forward to warmer weather already, but plan to take advantage of the opportunities we have the next couple months. Thanks for checking in.
