The first spawning cycle of 2018 is coming to a close on the middle Ocklawaha River near Ocala. Although all the Largemouths don’t spawn at the same time, most of the Bass we have caught recently have spawned out, and they are hungry.
Lots of 3 to 5 pound fish with the occasional wall hanger has been the norm over our last few trips, and the bite continues to improve. I expect this trend to continue over the next month or so.
Best bite time has been early until about 10 a.m., depending on the weather. Great time to book a trip before the summer is on us!
