Cedar Key Florida Inshore Fishing Report
The Speckled trout are on fire using popping corks with your favorite soft bait, shrimp or finger mullet in about 3-5ft of water on the grass flats, you just got to watch the wind, it’s been calm every afternoon, but this won’t last long, spring is about here! The redfish are hungry too and they love mullet and your favorite soft baits, we use just a ¼ oz jig head and work it off the bottom. There are a few reports of Spanish Mackerel being caught and a couple of cobia and we have seen some bait pods, so the fishing is about to be great. The sharks are here, and we saw 2 tarpon jump. So folks, it’s time to get on down here!!
Cedar Key Florida Offshore Fishing Report
The Sheepshead are biting, and the Seabass are very hungry. The gags are biting but you must release them unharmed, and the grunts are always hungry. The Spanish Mackerel are moving in and the bait pods are showing up. We haven’t been to deep water in a while for red grouper but we look for this year being a good year for them, we are due.
We’re only fishing in 24 to 35 feet of water, so come on down, the weather is right and it’s time to have some good ole time fun with family & friends.
Till next time “Safe boating n tight lines”
