A Crystal River, Citrus County, Levy County and?Yankeetown, Florida Fishing Report From Gulf Coast Fishing Guide Captain Nick
GET-UM WHILE YOU CAN
Surface water temp’s off the Citrus/Levy County coasts have been in the lower 50’s this past week, which translates to fish populations going both shallow and deep.
Friday, 1/23, we fished about 18 miles offshore and though there were no Grouper, we did catch several nice Sheephead in the 5-7 lb. range.
Sunday, 1/25, we fished around the Progress Energy Power Plant at Crystal River, and caught 15 Redfish, along with several Jack Crevelles and a small Black Drum.
This time of year it pay’s to fish either very shallow or very deep, depending on what you are targeting.
Speaking of time of year,
don’t forget, Trout season is closed February through March 31st.
Better get them while you can
