Steinhatchee Fishing GuideIf you are a regular on outdoorupdate.com you know I have not posted a report in a while. Yes, I have been busy and I had some outboard issues that kept me distracted for a couple of months. We finally broke down and contributed to local economic stimulus, albeit, kicking and screaming. I bought a new Yamaha 150 four stroke from BIG BEND MARINE Perry, FL. I like it a lot.

I don’t have to tell you what the fall weather has been like. Beautiful, would describe it.

We had our autumn run of large Spanish Mackerel, which has tapered off now. Redfish were very dependable until the Gulf waters cooled. We are still catching keeper size Reds, but they are more challenging during cooler water conditions. November is my second favorite month of the year for Large Speckled Trout. The best day I had was last week, we caught seven Trout over 20″s. Two made 6 lbs on my BOGA scale. We handled them as gently as possible, not removing them from the water and releasing the big sow Trout, so they could make more. Limits of Speckled Trout 15″ to 18″s are common.

We are hoping for a mild winter, at least milder than last year, and looking forward to great winter fishing through January.

Come see us,
GOD Bless and Good Fishing,
Captain, STEVE KROLL
