What a week. It’s been very cold and windy. Water temps down in the 50’s have made the Steinhatchee River the warmest place they can find.
The Trout have stacked up there. They can be easily caught with jigs, plugs, or shrimp, with the artificial worked very slow. The bite will be subtle and usually come near the bottom.
Take your limit, but, please don’t double dip. For one, it’s illegal. The law has been in the river, sometimes in an unmarked boat. Enjoy it while it lasts.
Dress warm and enjoy the day.
