Silck ChartersThe fall Bass bite on the Ocklawaha River near Ocala has been, in a word, awesome!

Typically it’s late October before we expect to see big numbers of Largemouths over 5 lbs., but for whatever reason we’ve had a early fall bite for the record books.

Consecutive trips with Bass over 9 lbs. have been the rule rather than the exception. Lots of fish over 5 lbs. and very few under the 14 inch minimum. I can hardly wait for our first pre-spawn bite in November.

Pictured below is the Carico family with a fine example of our most recent catches.

Until next time…see you on the River!

The peace and quiet of the river, the cast of the rod, the strike, and the sound of your voice saying,

"I Got One",

ringing across the water and into the forest.
