On Wednesday, 11/3, Mr. Bill Andrews and his friend Mike took a trip with us in search of that “Trophy Largemouth”.
Bill and Mike had fished with me before, almost a year ago to the day, and are both avid fishermen.
This came in real handy when Bill latched onto a huge “Ocklawaha Largemouth”. The fish exploded on a wild shiner within inches of some very thick cover, and the fight was on.
All I could think about was the 12 pound test line we use when fishing such clear shallow water.
Bill kept his cool and worked the fish out of the cover and up to the boat in a couple of minutes. It seemed like an hour to me! After landing the fish we weighed and measured it. A whopping 11.5 lb., 27 inch Ocklawaha Largemouth (pictured below). Another “Fish of a lifetime”!
The Bass bite in general had been very slow on Wednesday, for whatever reason, but it only takes one fish like this to really make your day.
Thanks, Bill and Mike, for your patronage and generous tip. Hope to see you soon!
‘Till next time…see you on the River
Good Luck
Captain Nick
