The Largemouth bite on the Ocklawaha River has been outstanding lately, especially in the early morning hours. From the upper parts of the River near Ocala, to the Rodman Reservoir at Orange Springs, the bass bite has been on fire over the past few months.
Early morning has been the best of it. For the first 2 to 3 hours the number of bites all depends on how fast you can get your bait in the water! I expect the window of opportunity will ebb with the fast approaching summer months, so get them while the getting is good.
My apologies for the tardy reports, we have been busy fishing. Pictured below is our most recent example of what to expect fishing the Ocklawaha!
Until next time, see you on the River!
