The Speckled Trout are really liking the cooler weather. They’re biting good on the grass flats in 3 to 5 feet of water using popping corks with shrimp or your favorite plastic baits. You can also use a 1/4 oz jig head and slow bounce off the bottom.
The Redfish are still biting good on the oyster bars and islands using finger mullet, cut mullet or your favorite plastic baits. As the water temp drops they will move more towards the back-marsh area and come out in the afternoon when the water warms by the bars.
We also look for the sand trout, whiting and black drum to start biting real soon, they like it cooler.

The gag grouper, as well as the red grouper, are biting good in 38 to 50 feet of water hitting on live bait and frozen threadfins, sardines and cut mullet.
The King Fish are here too, there seem to more of them in 20 to 35 feet of water. We’re slow trolling or just free lining baits while bottom fishing and the Spanish Mackerels are here too in the same areas. We usually put out a chum bag while bottom fishing for grouper and they come to us, then use light tackle gear and toss spoons or jig heads with small plastic baits to them.
The sea bass and grunts are hungry and seem to be bigger lately.
