Silck ChartersOctobers’ Largemouth Bass bite on the Ocklawaha River continues to be one for the books. Lots of 4 to 6 pounders, and 8 consecutive trips yielding Bass over 8 lbs..

The best time of day remains to be early morning or late afternoon. For best results, fish in and around the heavy cover. That’s where the wallhangers live.

Wild shiners, either free-lined or fished under a float, are hands down the best bait for getting that once in a lifetime Bass. Like I’ve said before, “You either got a wild shiner, or you need one”.

Pictured below are a few more examples of our most recent catches.

Until next time…see you on the River!

The peace and quiet of the river, the cast of the rod, the strike, and the sound of your voice saying,

"I Got One",

ringing across the water and into the forest.
