we’re still catching fish, go figure!
The Largemouth bite on the Ocklawaha River has greatly improved over the past month. We’ve gone from extreme low water in May and June, to almost flood conditions throughout July due to record breaking rainfall.
Although late summer is typically not the best time of year to plan a trip, we have recently had success fishing the very early morning hours (6 to 9). Plenty of 2 to 3 lb. Bass with the occasional wall hanger.
Expect the bite to improve as we close in on fall, and the weather settles.
Pictured are a father and son team taking advantage of the early morning bite.

Until next time, see you on the River!
