The Largemouth bite on the Ocklawaha River has slowed a bit over the past few weeks. Although we’re still catching plenty of keeper-sized Bass, fish over 6 pounds have been few and far between. Expect the numbers to improve over the next week or so as the full moon approaches and spawning Largemouths begin to come off the bed.
Early and late in the day remains the best time of day to fish and as always, wild shiners are the best bait.
Water levels on the Ocklawaha River are extremely low, as well as several impassable snags between Moss Bluff and Rodman Dam. As always, use caution when on the water.
