The trout are biting and are on fire using live shrimp-gulps-finger mullet and live mudminnows on a popping cork with a leaded just long enough to keep it off the bottom and a 1/4 oz jig head.

Cast it out away from boat and pop it, then let it set for a minute, and wham o, fish is on. The grass flat areas at 3 to 5 feet are doing well and the redfish are doing great also. But fish more to the islands and oyster bars, using same baits or fresh cut mullet, they cant resist it.

The sheephead are starting to bite around the piers and rock piles, using fiddler crabs and shrimp, chumming helps too.

Cedar Key Offshore Fishing Report

The gag grouper are biting and are also on fire in 25 to 40 feet of water, using threadfins, live pins and cut mullet or any of your favorite frozen baits, they are hungry. Remember the season for them to keep ends Dec. 3rd. So all grouper except scamp. Are closed after the 3rd of Dec. but they’re still fun to catch and release though.

There were two cobia caught last week and still a couple Kingfish around. The sea bass and grunts are biting good using squid or sardines, using lighter tackle is quite fun.
