In 55 to 65 ft of water southwest of Cedar Key, Florida the red grouper are on fire and there are plenty of bait pods around as well. They’re hitting on mostly frozen mullet, northern mackerel and thread-fin herring. We also use live pinfish.
There are also big gag grouper seemly everywhere, but any caught were released unharmed of coarse.
We have been catching about 75 to 100 fish per charter, the fishing is awesome and we’re getting our limit or close to it with some good quality size fish.
We had some half days this weekend too and did real well with sea bass and two keeper red grouper and 1 king fish close in in 32 ft of water.
