The Gag Grouper are biting great in 24 to 35 ft of water around live bottom and rocky areas, the kingfish hole area west of Sea Horse reef is producing good fish, some up to 30″.
The Kingfish are starting to move south but the Sea Bass and Spanish Mackerel are biting good. Red Grouper are biting too and are as close as 40 feet but they seem to like a little deeper water.
All groupers are biting good on live pins and frozen threadfin, sardines, northern mackerel and menhaden.
It’s also a good time to troll stretch 25 & 30’s around to find new spots and then anchor up and fish. Be patient, the biting will be on and off, I just move around and pick up few then move. Come on down and catch’em while there hot, Gag Grouper season closes in December 4th with December 3rd being the last day of the season.
