Cedar Key Inshore Fishing Report
The waters are warming up and hopefully the wind has calmed down. The speckled trout and redfish have been biting good on live shrimp, gulps and assassin baits. The grass flats all around Cedar Key are producing and the islands and oyster bars are producing reds too. The sharks are plentiful, we have had some tarpon and triple tail action too. The mackerel and cobia have shown up as well. Don’t forget your chum bag.

Mrs K showing how to catch Kings
Cedar Key Offshore Fishing Report
The kings and cobia have made it here. Last weekend there were about 25 nice kings caught and a few cobias. The reef area and structure spots are holding bait which equals bigger fish, if your impatient, troll or just find bait pods, set out chum and some free lines n bottom rigs and wait for the action. The gags and red snapper are thick in 40-60 ft, but must be unharmed and released. The red grouper are biting but mostly too small to keep, still a good sign since we haven’t seen them in a year. And of course the grunts and sea bass will always help feed the family.
