Ocklawaha Fishing Report
From Ocklawaha Fishing Guide Captain Nick
THE BASS ARE COMING OFF THE BEDS
March winds have had us doing our fair share of Freshwater fishing over the past couple of weeks. As usual, we targeted Largemouth Bass using live bait (wild shiners) on the Ocklawaha River, just east of Ocala.
Due to the lack of rainfall over the past several months, the River is low and slow.
We had our best results fishing the lower or middle most part of the River, including the Rodman Reservoir area, aka Lake Ocklawaha.
The Bass are starting to come off the beds, and I expect the bite to improve over the next few weeks. Hopefully we will get some much needed rain soon, and a little less wind!
