The Bass bite has slowed over the last few weeks. You can blame it on a variety of reasons, but like someone once said, “It is what it is”!
Although we’ve yet to be skunked, the Largemouth bite has been weak. We’re getting hits on every bait, but they’re just not eating.
Occasionally we get a late summer spawn on the Ocklawaha River. When this happens the buck Bass go into their protect the bed mode, which would explain the behavior we’ve been seeing over the past few weeks. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it!
