Cedar Key Inshore Fishing Report
The inshore bite is awesome rite now. The speckled trout and red fish are on fire. On all of Cedar Key’s grass flats in 3 to 5 ft of water and around the many bars we have we’re catching fish.
We’re using popping corks or 1/8 oz jig heads with live shrimp. The sheepshead are still biting on the rock piles and around the docks and the Spanish mackerel are here too. We also have been catching pompano and some sharks
Cedar Key Offshore Fishing Report
The best thing biting right now are the sea bass and pink grunts and they can be caught in 18 to 45 ft of water. The gag grouper are bitting good too but you do have release them …. unharmed please. The red grouper have been a little hard to find but they are there in 38 to 48 ft of water. All are hitting on live pins and any type of the frozen baits you care to use. The Spanish mackerel are there too and we haven’t caught one yet but we’re looking for the king fish to show up any day now.
