Although most Floridians are less than happy with the cold fronts we’ve had to recently endure, there is an upside. What could that possibly be you might ask? Great Fishing!

These cold fronts, as well as the shorter days, trigger fish, especially Bass, to spawn. It also makes it much easier to find them.

The Largemouths prefer water temps at or near 70 degrees. Coincidentally, natural springs located throughout Florida flow a constant 72 degrees year round. This makes them “Fish Magnets”. Largemouths as well as other species gravitate toward these springs during winter months, and this is hands down the best time to get that wallhanger.

Speaking of wallhangers, check out this 25 lb. Gar my buddy Doug caught on 12 lb. test.
