My Saturday March 20th charter left the Cedar Kay Boat ramp and went to catch some bait before we went farther out to fish.
Searching for new grouper spots we started in 45 ft of water. With nobody home, went to 50–60 ft, and there they were, they were hungry and most were in the 26 to 28 inch range. We lost a few big ones, the water was a little rusty and about 58 degrees.
While we where there we saw 5 different bait pods and schools of Mackerel or Bonita.
We headed back in to get some sea bass for dinner in about 35 feet of water which was about 61 degrees and then back at the ramp were it was 62 degrees.
It looks like April is going to be good for fishing.
Good luck and tight lines
