Cedar Key Florida Inshore Fishing Report The weather and the water in Cedar Key has have been hot, and the bite is going up and down. The trout are moving in the deeper, cooler water now, in around 4 – 7 feet. They’re out on the edge of seahorse reef in the grassy edges and pot holes. Use popping corks and slow jigging just off the bottom with your favorite plastic baits, shrimp and small live bait for results.
