Recent rainfall, along with cooler temps, have the Largemouths biting. Over the past 3 weeks we’ve had a noticeable improvement in the numbers, as well as the size of Bass caught.
Saturday, 9/24, we caught and released several “keeper” Largemouths, including a 5 1/2 and 7 pounder. Typically the best time of day to fish Central Florida’s Ocklawaha River is early in the morning, although anytime is a good time to go fishing.
I expect the bite, as well as the size and number of fish, to improve as the days get shorter. We’re looking forward to another good spawn on the River, possibly before the year is out.
Until next time…see you on the Rivers!
