Chomping for the Gulf of Mexico!

I’m chomping at the bit to get back to the Grass Flats and Spoil Islands off of Yankeetown (Citrus/Levy counties coast).

Recently, between having freshwater trips to do, or the wind blowing 15-20 knots, I have been kept from any saltwater fishing since the 10th of the month.
?
Typically this time of year, the cold fronts move thru and we get 2-3 days of wind followed by several days of moderate weather.

Water temps off the Nature Coast right now are in the 70’s, which makes for good fishing.?? Air temp also in the 70’s? makes for a real comfortable trip.

Expect the Gag Grouper to move inside in the very near future.

Try Grouper “cicles” (frozen Spanish Sardine), fished around structure or hard bottom, in 20 to 30 feet of water for best results.

The peace and quiet of the river, the cast of the rod, the strike, and the sound of your voice saying,

"I Got One",

ringing across the water and into the forest.
