Cedar Key Inshore Fishing Report The Spanish Mackerel are running thick on the flats, them and the speckled or spotted trout are best south east of Snake Key. The red fish are back on the shoals and near all of our islands. We are using Cajun Thunder corks with 40 lb leaders and 1/4 oz jig heads and live shrimp and finger mullet. Bass Fishing on the Ocklawaha Was Excellent In February

Bass fishing on the Ocklawaha River was excellent throughout the month of February.  We had multiple trips with “Lunker Largemouths” over 8 lbs., caught and released. More recently, the bite has been good, although most of the fish caught have been between 4 and 6 lbs. but it’s not bad for March. Expect the size and number of Bass to improve in the near future as they come off the bed. Cedar Key Inshore & Offshore Fishing Reports

Inshore Fishing Report The Redfish and Speckle Trout are on fire and are large in size. Fishing around all of our islands and 4 to 6 ft grassy flats, using popping corks and live shrimp, mud minnows or frozen finger mullet has produced results. The Sheepshead are super plentiful around the docks as well and we’re catching some Spanish Mackerel too. Offshore Fishing Report Near shore rocky areas, in the Kingfish hole and 10-3 hole are producing good size Sea Bass, and some gag grouper, which you have to release unharmed.
