Sometimes The Fish Win

The Bass bite has slowed over the last few weeks. You can blame it on a variety of reasons, but like someone once said, “It is what it is”! Although we’ve yet to be skunked, the Largemouth bite has been weak. We’re getting hits on every bait, but they’re just not eating. Occasionally we get a late summer spawn on the Ocklawaha River. Right Now, Steinhatchee Is For Catching Fish And Scalloping

Hey Gulf Lovers, My fishing report is brief this week. The way the tide was and the customers I had, I fished only two mornings. We caught Trout, both Speckled and Sand, a few Sea Bass, Flounder, Bluefish and Jack Crevalle. All great fun, but the story this week has been about the Scallop. Right now they are close to the river in both directions. This has allowed the crowds to spread out a little.  There are also several reports of good scallops deep. By deep I mean 6-10 feet.
