THE FLEET IS IN MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL

The wall hanger Bass are schooling up on the Ocklawaha River. On Wednesday of last week we fished several different locations on the River at different times of the day with good results both in the a.m. and p.m. Tuesday, 12/21, we fished for about 3 hours in the late afternoon and ended up catching 10 Bass in the last 30 minutes of the trip. Most of the 10 were legal sized Bass with the largest weighing in at 5 lbs.. Although we didn’t set any records, we spotted several huge Bass that will soon be bedding. Expect the bite […]

One of the hottest spots for winter fishing on the Citrus County Coast has been literally shut down. Typically this time of year the majority of trips we schedule are for the Progress Energy Hot Water Discharge Canal, just north of Crystal River, and for good reason…great fishing. Unfortunately, for whatever reason, some kind of shutdown occurred recently which sent the typically 72 degree water temperature plummeting down into the lower 50’s. Big Bend Fish On The Move …….

Recent cold fronts have the fish moving in off the Dixie, Levy & Citrus County coasts. By the time you read this report, a huge fish migration will have taken place in the Big Bend. Typically we see a slow migration of several different species of fish move inshore during the winter months, but like they say, “every rule has its exception”. The Wind and Seas Weren’t the Best at Cedar Key But We Still Got Results

I had a party of 3 go for some grouper fishing, the wind and seas weren’t the best, we went to 45 ft and worked our way back to 25 ft. We were using menhadden, sardines, and cut bait. we ended up with 5 nice gags, 1 red grouper, about 30 sea bass and some grunts, with a good amount of 1/2 inch shorts.
