Big Bend Fishing Forecast (no hog futures here)

October 29, 2008

Fishing “Futures” Typically, I don’t make predictions. Most of my fishing partners would agree it’s bad “juju”. On this occasion, I will make an exception (with conditions). In my opinion, if these cold fronts we are now experiencing continue, and we get a cooler than average winter, as predicted by the wether Pro’s, I think we are looking at a terrific fall/winter season for both salt and freshwater fishing. Speckled Trout and Reds are Biting Good!

October 23, 2008

Hey Fall Fisherman, Now that we are wearing jackets and sweatshirts in?the mornings and the water temps have dropped, you know the Speckled Trout and Reds are biting good. We have had days with high north winds and slick days, each with it’s own challenges. Saltwater Assassin baits, Berkely Gulps, cutbait continue to get the job done. Chomping for the Gulf of Mexico

October 22, 2008

Chomping for the Gulf of Mexico! I’m chomping at the bit to get back to the Grass Flats and Spoil Islands off of Yankeetown (Citrus/Levy counties coast). Typically this time of year, the cold fronts move thru and we get 2-3 days of wind followed by several days of moderate weather. Water temps off the Nature Coast right now are in the 70’s, which makes for good fishing.?? Air temp also in […]
