Cedar Key Florida Inshore Fishing Report
The water has been a little dirty causing a tougher bite, but it’s still good fishing and the trout have been biting good in 4-5’ of water on the grass flats and in the cuts. Use your favorite plastic baits and live shrimp on popping corks. When the water heats up soon they will move to some deeper water and out by the reef in the grassy edges.
The redfish are biting good on oyster bars, up on the island edges and cuts fishing on the bottom using cut mullet and plastic baits. But if you’re getting hung up a-lot, use a cork to keep your bait just off bottom.
There’s been some tarpon spotted too, they seem to love medium size mullet and the sharks are plentiful to.
Cedar Key Florida Offshore Fishing Report
The red snapper are biting good in 55-75 feet of water using frozen threadfins. We put out a chum bag and fish some towards the bottom and some with light spinners free lining, it’s a lot of fun like that. The red grouper are mostly small but we’ve got a couple keepers and the gags are plentiful but we’re only getting a few 24 inch or bigger in 50-70 feet on the rocky bottom areas. We’re still getting some King fish and Cobia offshore too. The fish are biting so come n get’em while the fishing is hot.
