I and two of my fishing partners, Doug and Pat, struck out about 8 a.m. from the Yankeetown Public Ramp. We ran offshore about 15 miles and thanks to Doug’s driving, it took about 30 minutes.
Before the anchor had took a set, Pat was hooked up. Cobia everywhere! The “fire drill” was on. There’s nothing like sight fishing Cobia. On my second bait, pinfish (free lined on top), I was hooked up with a nice 45 pounder. In no time at all we had our limit and had released several fish over 20 lbs.. What a day!
Well, I guess this has been more of a fish story than a fishing report, but like I said before, fishing off Florida’s Nature Coast is alive and well.
