Great Scalloping And Good Fishing

Steinhatchee Fishing & Scalloping Report from
Steinhatchee?Scalloping Guide and Fishing Guide Captain Steve Kroll

pepperfish_key_galmour_shotHey fisherman and scallopers, What a pleasant surprise. The state of Florida gave us an average report or scallop count. Gainesville Sun reported the count was half of the previous year. I am not here to say they were wrong, only that the areas where they performed their data collection was not the area we are gathering scallops. We all hope that it will hold up.

Mean while, I have been doing some early morning fishing trips. Our success has been mixed. Great topwater bite one?morning, Reds and Trout. I watched a 30″ Red come out of the water and take a “spook”. I’ve caught reds on top before, but never had I seen?such a strike. Also, last week, myself and a customer were able to get 4 jumps out a 90lb Tarpon. I’ll keep you posted. And include photos.

Enjoy your summer and God Bless and Good Fishing and Sscalloping
