Thanks for the comment DW

Yes, the Silver River, in Fl is off-limits for fishing. I guess when Captain Nick said "we’ve had several fishing trips and tours of the Ocklawaha and Silver Rivers" that that can lead to to a bit of confusion.

But he gave "tours of the Ocklawaha and Silver Rivers" He also said "Some of our most recent clients have taken advantage of our Two River Special ........ fish for a couple of hours, "then" tour the Silver River until about noon."

In fact Captain Nick held off of the following article so no one would fish in the Silver River when they had a chance.

When it comes to bass and most species Captain Nick is catch and release.

Just a note from an employee at Silver River State Park - the entire length of Silver River is off-limits for fishing.

Wow, 36 lbs of fish?! That's quite the fishing run. I am jealous, right now it is snowing outside where I am. I could definitely go for a good fishing trip. Spring can't come soon enough.

Hot Dawg!...hearing about those Bass in the Ocklawaha gives me much needed confirmation that the river is well and thriving not to mention probably somewhat higher with all the rain that we're beginning to get. I've been anxious to get on the water myself and see if the wife and I can't pick up a few Specks to fry up along with some grits, hush puppies and cole slaw. What better way to celebrate a day on the river than to take home a few souveniers?
