“Not bad for an Ocklawaha punt”

nice-bassHad a Grouper trip off the Citrus County coast scheduled for Friday, 10/30, but Mother Nature had other plans.

At 4:30 a.m. the weather buoy offshore of Homosassa was registering 12 to 15 knot winds.  Not a good sign.

Time to punt

Called my client, Mr. Scott Van Beek, who also resides in Ocala, and suggested we change up from fishing the Gulf of Mexico for Grouper, to the Ocklawaha River near Ocala for Large Mouth Bass.  A minor adjustment!

Left the dock at the Ocala Boat Basin about 6:45 a.m. and by 11 had caught 8 Pike (Chain Pickerel), about 6 Bowfins, and several Largemouths, including  one that was just over 9 lbs.
