The Ocklawaha River Is Having An Outstanding February

Silck ChartersThe Largemouth Bass bite on the Ocklawaha River has been outstanding throughout February. Recently our half day trips have averaged over a dozen 2 to 5 pound Bass per angler, with the occasional 7 to 9 pound wallhanger!

I expect these numbers to decrease when the spawning fish move onto the beds. Speaking of spawning Bass, don’t forget to practice catch and release as much as possible. It’s the best way to ensure next years catch. Pictured below are some of our most recent clients doing just that.

Until next time, see you on the River!

The First Spawning For 2017 Is About To Begin!

Silck ChartersThe Largemouth bite has been excellent throughout December. Most of the fish caught recently have averaged about 3 lbs., with the occasional wall hanger over 7 lbs..

We’re beginning to see a few beds here and there and I expect the first spawning of 2017 is about to begin.

Speaking of 2017, Happy New Year to one and all!

Fall Bass fishing on the Ocklawaha River is alive and well!

Silck ChartersBass fishing on the Ocklawaha River is alive and well. Our last few trips have produced big numbers of quality fish as well as several lunkers over 5 lbs.. Expect the numbers to improve as we approach the first spawning period of the season.

The Largemouth regulations have changed this year. The catch limit is the same (5), but only 1 over 16 inches. Contact MYFWC.COM for any additional information.
